Boys will be boys...and so will a lot of middle-aged men.
Kin Hubbard

If you are a boy in first grade through fifth grade,

or you're 6 to 10 years old,
then Cub Scouting is for you, !
It's for your family, too.

Cub Scouts Belong to Pack and Den. Every Cub Scout is a member of a Cub Scout pack. A pack is a large group of boys. The pack is divided into smaller groups called dens. Each den has about six to eight boys. All of the Cub Scouts in a den are about the same age and live in the same neighborhood. The Cub Scout pack belongs to a church, a school, or some other group of people in your community or neighborhood. This group makes sure your pack has good adult leaders, a place to meet, and exciting things to do.

The group gets help from the Boy Scouts of America, which is part of Scouting around the world.

Thanks to a town of islip survey, we were forced to move our equipment shed...that wasnt nice !

 DID YOU KNOW....

When a boy makes or builds something - like a model plane, a boat or a car he often imagines it in action:
flying, sailing or racing, as he works on it?

His mind is as active as his hands.

Words to live by !

"The Little Red Wagon. A symbol of childhood. It could be filled with a child's hopes and dreams or weighed down with their burdens. Millions of American children need our help to pull that wagon along. Let's all pull together."

Cub Scouts, I hold in my hand a pocketknife. This is a valuable tool because it can be used for many useful things. It is a dependable tool as long as the blade is kept sharp and free from rust and the working parts are in good condition. But, if it is neglected and becomes dull and rusty, it can be a dangerous tool. The same principle can be applied to ourselves. We have a body, which when kept in good condition, will serve us well. If we get plenty of exercise, eat the proper foods, and have good health habits, we will be able to enjoy, to the fullest, the things we do. But if we fail to take care of ourselves, we can become rusty and dull like the neglected knife. Do your best to keep fit!

Our last campout, May 2010, we hosted our first flag retirement ceremony. It was hosted by the Cubmaster and the assistant. We retired over ten (10) flags by way of burning and paid tribute to their service.  The service was done respectfully and many have never seen this done!
